Welcome to 2025 with Factor 5's Turrican!

5 January, 2025

It's a brand new year in the Amiga world, and a very important one in the history of our favourite computer. And what better way to start this 40th year than with a celebration of one of the greatest series on the platform! We look at the epic Turrican trilogy, speaking to Factor 5 CEO Julian Eggebrecht and Amiga Turrican dev Holger Schmidt about their memories of how the game came about and some of the behind the scenes stories of how these amazing games came about.

Also in Issue 35:

  • We review Mutation Software's final game Dungeonette and have a look through the impressive entries in the recent AmiGameJam
  • A beautiful gallery of Dan Malone's artwork and concept art, following on from last issue's interview
  • Paul sits down with The One Amiga's Simon Byron to find out some of the Amiga print media stories and scandals from yesteryear
  • On the testbench this issue: keyboard controller boards DoohicKEY and ZonKEY from Retro Supplies
  • Gareth looks back at pioneering 3D software Caligari on the Amiga and asks if it's even more impressive than the Amiga Juggler demo
  • Ravi looks back at sponsored sports kits and running a micro Amiga setup on the Tang Nano 20K FPGA board
  • We get the word from the creator of the Earth 2140 port, one of the few RTS games that made it to Amiga
  • Matt Smith runs a Gold Standard special on the very best Amiga games that started on arcade
  • And all your favourite regular features!
